Super 8 Wedding Films in Montreal: Real Film, Shot the Rare Way
Some wedding films are shot on cameras that pretend to be film. Ours are actual film. Here is what that means, and why couples are booking it.
What is Super 8?
Super 8 is real motion picture film, the same format families used to shoot home movies. Warm colours, soft grain, little flickers of light. It does not look like a filter because it is not one. It looks like a memory because it is recorded the way memories used to be made.
Why is it rare?
Almost nobody shoots it anymore. The cameras are vintage, the film stock is made in small runs, and there is no screen on the back to check your shot. You have to know the craft. Our team comes from the Montreal film industry, so shooting on real stock is home for us.
Where does the film go after your wedding?
Your rolls are shipped to Niagara Custom Lab, one of the few labs still developing this stock by hand. There they are processed, scanned in 2K, and returned to us to edit into your film. The whole process takes about 3 to 4 weeks, which is part of the magic. Nothing instant, everything intentional.
What does it cost?
Super 8 wedding films start at roughly ~$1,500, and Super 8 coverage can be added to any of our photo or video packages. We shoot weddings across Montreal and Quebec, on digital, 35mm film, Super 8 and VHS.
If you want your wedding to feel like it was always a film, this is the one. Book a discovery call or fill out the quote form on our homepage and ask us about Super 8 for your date.
